Anyone who studies church history knows that there have always been differing opinions about a woman’s role in the local church. In recent years, multiple events across the nation have revealed foundational problems within the evangelical church regarding not only the role of women in the church but also their inherent value in the world. While this topic has always been debated in seminary classrooms, it is now a discussion across social media platforms. Most church members will never engage with a seminary classroom or a social media thread regarding this issue, and yet I believe it is of the utmost importance that the body of Christ at large understand the matter. For years it was the greatest adventure and the joy of my life to serve in the local church; it is my greatest hope that more women would experience that privilege and joy.
